IX. CORRECTING ONE ANOTHER
Objectives:
1. To emphasize need for correction.
2. To inform the Christian how to resolve conflicts within the body.
A. Hebrews 3:12-13
If you are to see to it that no one has a sinful heart, then you will need at times to correct others.
B. I Timothy 5:1-2 / II Timothy 3:16-4:2 1.
2. Correction should involve the use of Scripture.
3. Correction should be done with great patience and
careful instruction.
C. Ephesians 4:25-32 / James 4:11-12 1.
2. Do not use the opportunity to tear down the other
person.
3. If you enjoy correcting others, it is probably from
wrong motivation.
D. Matthew 5:23-24 / Matthew 18:15-20 1.
2. Don't wait for the other person to take the initia-
tive regardless of who is at fault.
3. What is the pattern f or correction you see in Matthew
18:15-20?
E. It is also important that you be willing to accept correction. read and discuss the following Proverbs.
1. Proverbs 12:1
2. Proverbs 12:15
3. Proverbs 13:10
4. Proverbs 13:13
5. Proverbs 13:18
F. While it is important to accept correction, you should ' be careful to evaluate all correction and advice in light of Scripture.
