| Is it possible to communicate spiritual ideas in this web page format? Is
it appropriate? How do you share a journey through a document that is a snapshot? This section of my web page is designed to share with you the most important and most challenging part of my life. It is my goal to know our Creator in a more and more personal way. Although I was raised in a Christian family, knowing Christ is a personal decision. Currently I am a member of the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ and am deacon of the Spanish Ministry and also of the Missions Ministry. That describes where I attend and what I do, but it doesnt describe who I am! I am a born again Christian who has accepted the sacrifice of Jesus. Motivated by His grace I was baptized for the forgiveness of sins and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. For a relationship to deepen and mature it requires time(quality and quantity), effort, patience and passion. Often these qualities are not valued and respected in our society. However, they are necessary to strengthen our relationship with God, with our spouse and with our family. I encourage you to "Seek first the kingdom of God" (Matthew 6:33). Recognize that our world is not only the physical that you can see and touch, but it is also spiritual. My wife and I are fluent in Spanish and enjoy working with the Latin Americans in our congregation. Often this includes studying the Bible with someone who respects Gods Word, but has actually spent very little time studying and applying His Word. In those cases we have a series of Bible Studies that we use to help them understand how to use the Bible to know God. We typically study the following topics:
This often helps orient a person to feel comfortable using Gods Word as a daily guide.
Over the last few years there are a few Bible reading tools that have been useful to me during my "Quiet Times". A "quiet time" also involves letting God speak to us. "Be still and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10. Thats probably my biggest challenge! Be still. Listen to God. Pray. Be quiet.
