Below:  The three-toed sloth (Pereza-Bradypus tridactylus), nocturnal and herbivorous, hangs from tree branches for long periods, thanks to its strong paws furnished with three curved claws. Its favorite food is the leaf of the Yagrumo tree (Cecropia Peltata), in which it feeds, often for days at a time, moving on when the tree is leafless. Its movements are so excessively slow that they have to be seen to be realized fully.
